Among them, three human kingdoms rise above the others, vying for power and influence in the continent. Yet, even they must contend with the multitude of independent duchies and the infamous thiefdoms that dot the landscape. The lines of loyalty and allegiances are ever-shifting, and only the fittest and most cunning will survive struggle for power that is played out in the land.
After enduring devastation, the kingdom of Remia stood battered. But the Remians refused to bow down and worked tirelessly to rebuild. Though much work remained to be done, the Remians had shown that they would not be defeated. Their people were proud and their leaders were determined to restore their kingdom to its rightful place of honor and glory. The future may be uncertain, but one thing is clear - the epic history of a former empire would live on.
The Kingdom of Skjalva and its powerful alliance of northern realms basked in glory and prosperity. With their armies unmatched and their fleets unbeatable, they set their sights on expanding their borders beyond the known lands, towards the mystical realms of the Burned. Their ambitions grew with every passing day, as they built up mighty colonies and cemented their dominance in the cutthroat politics of Goia.
For a century, Donwach remained neutral amidst the conflicts of the realm, yet it did not falter in its prosperity. Instead, it thrived, as it opened its doors to trade with both the elves and humans, becoming an economic powerhouse in its own right. Its docks were filled with ships from all corners of the realm, as traders from far and wide flocked to its shores, eager to partake in the wealth of the neutral realm. Donwach's coffers overflowed with the riches of trade, and its influence grew steadily, as its merchants and diplomats began to make their mark on the wider world.
The Burned, a proud and once-mighty people, now live in a precarious state of existence. Though some still dwell with humans in the duchy of Fjollvond, the majority eke out a fragile peace in their homeland, constantly threatened by the relentless encroachment of Skjalvan colonizers. Despite their strength and resilience, the Burned find themselves caught between two worlds, struggling to maintain their identity and independence in the face of overwhelming odds. As they fight to preserve what little they have left, the Burned must look to their past for inspiration, drawing on the stories and legends of their ancestors to guide them through this dark and troubled time.
