The Second Human – Elven War The End Of An Era
Back To IndexIn the wake of devastating raids and invasions from the Burned, and the turmoil of civil war in The Great Flaring, the once-great empire of Remia found itself weakened and vulnerable. The idea of reconquering the Kingdom of Donwach, previously taken by the elves, and expanding their control over the southern islands emerged as a way to demonstrate strength and unity and reunite the empire under a common banner.
However, the weakened Remian Empire faced a formidable obstacle in the form of the Protectorate of Sileth, which had only grown stronger and more unified over time. The Remians were unable to conquer any islands for themselves, and their hold over Donwach and the western part of Remia dwindled. It was only after a false flag operation by Remian special forces, using an elven ship they had captured to attack Skjalva, that the tides began to turn.
With Skjalva and its allies entering the fray on the side of Remia, the elves were driven out of Donwach in a fierce and bloody conflict that raged for years. The Remian armies, bolstered by the might of their northern allies, seemed unstoppable, pushing further and further into elven territory.
But the elves were not so easily defeated, and they mounted their own counter-attacks, striking back at Remian strongholds in a relentless and brutal campaign. The fighting continued for a decade, with the tide of battle shifting back and forth like the ebb and flow of the tides themselves.
Finally, The Treaty brought a fragile peace between the humans and the elves, and for now, the violence and bloodshed has ceased. However, tensions still simmer beneath the surface, and it remains to be seen whether this peace will hold. The elves continue to live on their lands, while the human realms have become increasingly divided and fractured. The future is uncertain, and only time will tell whether this fragile peace will endure or if war will once again ravage the land.
