The Town Of Lindana Human Industry Town

Lindana is a rapidly growing town on coast of the Kingdom of Remia. This settlement has a large amount of manufactories and rivals the capital of Remia in terms of productivity, while not being nearly as populated.

History

The town of Lindana was founded at a forest spring. The settlement grew into a quaint little town in the middle of nowhere. It is said that the area was so lush and beautiful, that the town was just called "little beauty" from the word of "Linda" and the ending "-na".

While the War Of The Dragons was happening, the town briefly became the seat of power for the realm, as the Emperor Vindecto fled from the occupied capital, which lead to the first period of growth.

The real boom happened way later, as the head of the farmers family of Oktevi inherited a sizable amount of money. They aquired a small house at the coast, built a little pier and started bagging grain for shipping. This business was hugely successful in that it helped the family to sell their wheat for a higher price and expand their farm. They built more and more manufacturies at the coast and a small harbour, that grew over the years. In the following decades the whole forest was cut down to make space for more fields and pastures while draining the ground water. With the depleting source of fresh water, the council of hydration was founded to help the local farmers with their irregation, however the large amount of corruption in the organization led to a worsening of the original water scarcity problem.

With the goodwill of the Oktevi family, the lesser noble house of Reti aquired the power of the duchy of Lindana. Their job was it, to ensure protection for the trade that was going on in the town, expand Lindana's influence and help the rich get richer. For nearly a century, the Oktevis ruled from the shadows but after the fall of the empire, as the relative importance of Lindana surged and their powerful military ensured them a largely autonomous rule, the reign of the Oktevi family became a more open secret. There are already whispers in the town, that Lord Magno Oktevi will formally become the duke of Lindana as he successfuly bribed his way to the status as a noble.
