The First Human – Elven War The Forming Of An Elven Realm
Back To IndexIn the aftermath of The Great Conquest, the humans of the Empire of Remia turned their attention to the surrounding islands. With their growing maritime capabilities, they began a large-scale expansion, settling on the islands and exploiting their natural resources. The elves, who had long inhabited these lands, were not pleased, but Remia had a great deal of power over the settlers and gradually incorporated the islands into their existing structures. Missionaries arrived, seeking to convert the elves, and some became known as "town elves", adapting to the human ways of life.
The peace between humans and elves was not to last, however. Remia declared a number of islands to be part of a new duchy, a move that enraged the elves. In response, they formed the Protectorate of Sileth, a loose alliance of town elf settlements focused on the liberation of elven lands and increased cooperation and trade between their kind. The town elves were renowned for their craftsmanship and shipbuilding skills, and they put up a fierce fight against the human forces, who were no match for the seafaring elven vessels. The elves expelled human settlers from their islands and took control of the waterways, even blockading human trade ports like the newly construced one in Lindana.
As if this were not enough, a great historical event known as The Great Flaring occurred, throwing Remia into chaos and forcing them to fight on multiple fronts. With their homeland at stake, they were forced to focus more and more on The Great Flaring and had to leave the elves alone, resulting in a de facto victory for the Protectorate of Sileth and the occupation of the Kingdom of Donwach by the elves. The conflict between humans and elves had changed the course of history once again, leaving a lasting legacy of bitterness and strife, but also of resilience and determination in the face of adversity.
